Introduction

The Mechanical FEM physics plugin is responsible for providing an implementation for the equilibrium equation that can be used together with the Fem process to solve static problems in 2D, axisymmetric and 3D. The main equation solved by this physics is:

\[ \nabla \sigma + b = 0 \]

where:

  • \(\sigma\) is the current stress vector
  • \(b\) is the body forces
